I need the story and the creative team to show up, and feel legitimate. I don’t just want to do it because somebody else has done it, and in doing so, do it badly.

I wrote a piece back in June about how you can’t just wait for gay characters to show up in fiction; you have to put them there. The same goes for stories and creative teams. They won’t just show up. You have to go get them.
